Circular Economy and
Appliance Recycling
Repair, Refurbish, Recycle:
Our Circular Approach
At SIROFLEX, a broken appliance isn’t necessarily destined for the scrap heap. We always start by seeing if it can be repaired, refurbished, or disassembled for parts. And when a refrigeration appliance has truly reached the end of its useful life, we work with GoRecycle to ensure it’s recycled responsibly, right here in Quebec.
Repairable?
Let’s talk about it.
What Is the Circular Economy in the Appliance Industry?
The circular economy aims to keep appliances and their materials in use for as long as possible, rather than following the “buy, throw away, replace” model.
For a household appliance, this translates into a series of simple options: first, we
repair it; then, we
refurbish it; we
reuse the parts that are still in good condition; and we
recycle only what can no longer be used.
Our Partnership with GoRecycle
GoRecycle is a nonprofit organization recognized by RECYC-QUÉBEC to ensure the responsible recycling of residential refrigeration and air conditioning units in Quebec. This partnership is directly in line with our commitment to repair, reuse, refurbish, and recycle more, rather than simply replace.
What Happens to the Recovered Refrigeration Units?
A refrigerator contains refrigerant gases that are harmful to the environment, both in its system and in the insulating foam of its walls. Once recovered, the units are sent to specialized facilities in Quebec, where these gases, oils, and other components are properly treated.
According to GoRecycle, more than 95% of an appliance’s materials can be recovered in this way.
Does your appliance need an assessment?
